Hi All,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a newbe just trying to get started Kayak fishing. I live out in Indianola and have been lurking in your forum for a bit. I have finally decided on a boat for me (Hobie Outback) and want to get opinions first on the boat and the best place to pick one up. Or maybe someone has a used one they are interested in selling?

Hope to see you out fishing soon.

Chad

Dude, you live right off what could be the best salmon fishing location in Puget Sound, Jefferson Head.  Below are the coords of a possible launch point.  You do have Google Earth, right?

Welcome to the group. I'm a newbie too.

Got my Hobie Adventure from Hobie Cats Northwest in Magnuson Park, 206-985-8080. They are great to deal with and happy to set up a demo for you most any morning. Try out a couple of boats and leave with a smile and a new toy on the roof, it worked for me! ;D

Demonick, is that a "Romeo" I see sticking out of your mouth. A man with his priorities straight.

I have heard that Jeff head is suppossed to be excellent fishing but never tried it, sort of new to the Area. I cant wait to get a boat.

Em7b5,

THanks I just gave them a call. Going to go over next week and look at a new ride. I would like to get a Demo or a Used one but they seem to be few and far between.

I think in that photo it was a La Aurora.  You a BOLF?

Where are you from?
You may be just in time for the fire sale at the OK factory in Ferndale.

I guess I'm not a "BOLF", beings I'm not sure what it stands for. But I do enjoy a good cigar on occasion, well more than on occasion.

I grew up in Oregon, (klamath Falls) but i was in germany for about 12 years before I moved here. Do you know when/if they are going to have a fire sale at the OK factory.

Where you from, you fish around here?

"Fire Sale" is probably rather unkind, as closing the factory means losing about 90 jobs.  TLW lost her job a couple of months ago and it is tough out there.  I would guess even worse on any of the islands.  We are all just speculating at this time that the closure of factory would mean some clearance deals.

BOTL = Brother Of The Leaf.  I enjoy a good cigar almost every day.  Should we meet, ask.  I'll probably have some spares on me.

I live across Puget Sound almost due west of you in Shoreline and have been putting into the salt off Richmond Beach.  I've only been kayak fishing a few months, and I'm trying to get the yak rigged for the salmon season open in areas 9 & 10 on 15 July.

It's open right now for pinks and coho. Trust me, you're going to want to get your time in on the water. Salmon fishing in the sound is a hard game to learn.
