I installed a round Scotty deck mount between the Sonar Shield and Rod Pod on my T13.  (For better or for worse, I am getting more comfortable drillin' and cuttin' on the boat).  I have another mount and will install it on the other side soon.   Also picked up a rod holder and extender.

Now I am considering how to mount the FF.  The Sonar Shield is too far away for easy fiddling and for my old eyes, so I'm thinking to use the right side Scotty mount for the FF.  I've been looking at RAM and Scotty hardware to figure out how to go from the Scotty surface mount to a flat FF mount hanging in air somewhere over the Rod Pod and am just not getting it.  With the rod holder I have a Scotty short post to an extender to which the rod holder clamps.  For the FF I could use the same post and extender, but then I am not finding a FF mount with the clamp style attachment.  The appropriate FF mount only seems to come with a short post, and I can't find a clamp-style joint to a post socket adapter.

Obviously I am missing something.

You may not be able to share the post effectively, but if you're comfortable, you might be able to just add another round flush scotty plus these Ram Scotty Adapter and Ram Mount for FF (may not apply specifically)

Do the RAM wedge adapters fit in the Scotty compact deck mount?  For some reason I thought these fit something with a larger hole.

The RAM site really sucks.  There is no indication of how long is the Mount for FF and it is not clear whether they include the ball mount.

Yes the wedges fit I'm using three of them on my T13 with various ball sizes.  And you need to buy a wedge if you wanna make the adapter work with your scotty flush mounts.  Though they do come with a flush mount like they show in the picture http://www.kayakfishingsupplies.com/servlet/the-268/kayak-ram-mount/Detail.

I'd say the extension is about 6" same size as my gps one. If you look closely it's socketing to a 1" ball which helps give you a size estimate.

Thanks.  What ball size would you suggest for a FF?

The ball size depends on the mount itself.  The FF mount on KFS takes a 1" ball from what I could find.  Most of the their double socket arms look like they take 1" but i found a couple of versions of their FF double socket mount that use 1 1/2".

Bigger the ball bigger the price on rams site a mount for a 500 series Humminbird is $33 if equipped for 1" and  $47 if setup for a 1 1/2".  Also a bigger ball would provide a more secure connection due to the extra contact surface area.  It'll all depend on the FF you're pairing it with.

You realize if you come up with a cool out of the norm setup you have to post pics lol
