in comparing the tridents to the the tarpon - i notice the tarpon 120  is approximately 10lbs heavier and has a weight capacity of approximately 50-100+lbs less than the trident 11/13 respectively

does anyone know the technical reason for these differences and what they would ultimately translate into on the water in or terms of general usability

any additional input either way for each model would be appreciated also

i'm test driving the tarpon tomorrow - but can't find anyplace to test drive the tridents yet

thanks,

anthony

I've always thought the plastic on a WS Tarpon was a bit thicker than on an OK Trident.  However, I've never sat down with a pair of calipers to compare the two so  I can't be sure of that.

Anyway, if the Tarpon happens to have more plastic (from say being thicker) and less displacement volume (because of the design) then the Tridents it would be heavier and would also have a lower weight capacity.

Polepole however designs chips (silicon based rather than potato or corn) so I think he has me beat when it comes to professional nerdism.
