I'm going to be taking next Tuesday off of work (OK, my wife gave me permission, for my Bday ) and I'm going fishing!

My best options are:
Omak Lake/ big Lahontans
Lake Chelan/ Lakers
Banks Lake/ carp, bass, perch, walleye and big bows.

Might be tough for you guys to join me, but your welcome to, if you can swing it..

How deep do you have to fish in Chelan to get the Lakers? I've fished quite a bit for them in Maine, but haven't targeted them out here yet...

Yeah, they're pretty deep. I think the shallowest we caught one was around 90-100'. I've wondered about trolling shallow, at first light, like they do in Tahoe. Light line, big plugs, 200'+ back.

A fellow guide is taking me to a private pay-to-play lake in the morning. May hit another spot in the afternoon.

So I did fish the little private pond with a friend and fellow guide. Decent fishing for 'bows and browns to 20-21". Lots of chronomids on the water; some surface action. The best action was subsurface on a huge dragonfly nymph. The fish were going bonkers on it, till they were educated. It was breezy and several times seemed to be on the verge of a T storm.

Left the pond around 5pm and still had daylight and was close (20 miles) to Omak Lake, so bopped over there. 2 trucks and 4 guys at Cow Beach; they were unhappy campers with no fish for the 2 days that they had been there. (And they were from Idaho and Cal.) They had only seen 5 small fish caught over that period, by others. They rolled their eyes when I told them I had never been skunked there; and left before being traumatized by my catching something (their words!). It was even windier at Omak; blowing 15-20 with fair whitecaps. Terrible conditions for casting but actually good for fishing as the fish seem less cautious. Used a big tan bunny/sculpin imitation and managed  1 Lahonton @ 23"; about 4-5lbs. So, I still have a good streak going at Omak. One of things that I like about this fishery is that the big water/ big fish remind me of a saltwater fishery. The scenery is topnotch, too, with the lake in a deep valley and the water being a spectacular blue. Took a pic of the fish but forgot that I had to save the photo (on cam/phone).  Did manage some photos of the lake, but don't have time to post, now.
