So you want a report, huh?  Yeah, okay…

As Polepole likes to say, “no joy”.  Got out to Snow Creek bright and early, I’d say 8:00 am or so.  The waves were crashing in at that time at maybe 3 feet tall.  I had neglected to bring along the dry suit since I had convinced myself that it would be nice and calm like I remembered from last year.  We decided that if it’s like that at launch time, then what might it be like by the time we try to come in again, especially with a pretty zippy wind coming out of the NW (at something more than the forecasted 10 knots I would say).

Wimped out and went down to a lake that Matt had heard of just north of Forks.  Got to the water by 11:00 and saw a few that had been caught, but I guess we missed the bite cause we came away with nothing for the day.  Beautiful sunny the whole time though, so I’m not gonna complain any.  Instead, I’m just gonna start in bugging Matt to see when can we get back out there and try again to jump up on that horse that intimidated us the first time.

I saw late Friday that the forecast came  up to 10-15 but it sounds like it was more than that.  Rotten luck.

Good on you guys for making the tough call to turn tails and run.  You'll gettem next time.

Over here, in the Methow, winds were breezy but warm on Sat., and howling on Sunday and 10 degrees colder. Janni and I tried to fish, in my boat, on Patterson in gusts topping out @35-40.  :o Kristi and the older girls were in the canoe, for a short time. Kristi was getting freaked by the wind.

We never found the perch; we searched all the shallows. Scoped fish at 20-40', along breaks, but couldn't hold the boat to get down to whatever they were. Water temp was 44-46F. Caught one stocker 'bow, about the size of a good horse herring.  ::)

OH ya she was playing hard ol'mother nature. We even sat there and counted waves looking for a break but there really wasn't one that would give enough time. The owner of the resort said he couldn't even get his docks out cause it was still to ruff.
But what Fishing T dosent mention is that we found some nice areas to possibly launch from just before snow creek. Just past Rays store (last chance beer) there is a nice sandy beach with kelp beds that look very inviting. Gona keep my eye in that. I would even consider launch right behind Rays or going to shipwreck and launch.
Tom I had a good time regardless of the out come. Thanks for comeover and I am glad you made it back safe. You could have stayed the nite and left in the morning.
good times, good times.

Yep, I agree with Matt.  That spot just before Shipwreck would make a good launch so long as permission to park doesn't become an issue.  I'd be almost certain that the surf there is always going to be less than nearly any where within 10 miles from there.  And yeah, it was a lot tamer there for the waves, but the wind was still the big factor when we decided to go for freshwater.

Hey, thanks for having me over Matt.  I really liked the new place.  I've told the wife that she's got to see it some time.
