Gonna take the girl and some paddleboards down to the Reedsport area.  Sometime in the quasi-near future.  Probably stay at Tahkenitch or Eel Creek.  Just going for some girl-friendly car camping and paddling.  Any locals wanna pass along info such as quality breakfast joints, ATV-avoidance tactics, must-see attractions, and most of all, quality nearby bodies of water not teeming with rednecks and The Itch?

Tahkenitch has two campgrounds, one on the lake, and the other on the west side of 101. The lakeside one has little privacy, but close to the dock. I have always camped at the west side camp. Lots' of nice spaces for carcamping, where you have a little trail going from the car to the private camp area. Also great trails to the beach and to 3 mile lake. The whole loop is about 7 miles. 3 mile lake is totally private and can only be accessed by trail. Skinny dipping is popular there!

I've always enjoyed a good Harbor Lights breakfast.
