sorry no pics. still don't have a waterproof digicam. (but my birthday is coming up soon, hint hint) fished the mouth of Chambers tonight and went 1 for 2. came home with a baaaaaarely legal hatchery king. couldn't have been but 5-ish pounds and pretty skinny. wasn't until i got home that i realized why it wasn't looking so healthy. seal teeth marks on both sides and serious bruising to the meat. had a beauty of a 10 pounder on 20 minutes before that until i got it right to the yak. it went flying out of the water 2 feet from me as i reached for the net and my jig went flying one way and it went flying the other. rats! (i even have witnesses too!)

it was a gorgeous night out on the water. flat calm, nice and warm, maybe 20 other boats, half trolling and half jigging. i got both my bites on a glow/hologram 3.5 oz Pt Wilson dart in 38 feet of water with 27 feet of line out on the line counter reel. 200 yards out from the mouth and 50 yards north along a little tide rip. marked plenty of schools of bait and a decent amount of fish too. most were shallow, between 18 and 36 feet. i was going to hit the banks of the puy saturday after work but now i may reconsider. i heard a few others caught out there too, but not many.

now that it's devirginized, it will only get better. and so far, the fish i've caught in the yak is only $500 per pound!

i really need to get a camera!

that's all for now.

Hey Bobby were you in a red kayak??  I was south of you about 1/2 mile.  I was making my way up there but it started getting "fishy" where I was so I bailed on the fishing the mouth plan.

Congrats on the first yak fish bob! Getting towed the first time is a good adrenalin rush. Now just let the madness set in and take over..  >:D

Woohoo!!! WTG Bobby!!

I still remember the rush of my first fish on a kayak.  Every fish since then is equally exciting!!!

Way to pop it in style!  There's no turning back now.   ;D
