Had a late evening but pretty productive. Got into some pinks pretty quickly right past the ferry. Got one on the downrigger, then chased schools w/ the bass rod and spinning reel. Lots of jumpers so it was just too hard to concentrate on trolling. Chucked pink buzz bombs at them and had steady action. Limited (4 fish) in a few hours and called it a day. Beauty evening on the water.

Nice Zee, I wish I could get in to some steady salmon action.

Yeah, steady salmon action is pretty hard to come by. But when you get it, aaaaaa it's good. Pinks are good schoolers so gets really fun. But what am I telling you for? You've slayed them all day in AK.

BTW did a miso-mayo oven bake and it was really good. If anyone's interested I'll post the recipe.

Interested for sure, but I need to catch a salmon first.

OK pretty simple. Mix up 60/40 mayonnaise and miso (japanese soup paste). Make enough to coat all of your fillets sides and all. Bake it on a cookie sheet (I like to put down a layer of aluminum foil) at 425 for about 18 minutes. Cooking time is going to depend on how thick your fish is. You'll know it's getting done when it starts to brown.

This recipe sounds like it would be really heavy/salty but it actually ends up being pretty mild. The oil in the mayo coats the fish so it keeps all the moisture in the fish. It ends up being really juicy. Works best on fish that have a light taste. So trout, pink salmon and the like are great candidates.
