Hi guys and gals,
I'm a newbie just loving all of the stories and safety tips and "Don't ask me how I know" incidents. Wali, that was a great one about the Tualatin.

I understand that a Huli is a roll over, but is "Huli" an acronym for four words? If it is, could you please let me know.

I live near Bellingham and I've contacted a couple of locals and next year I will become a part of the local kayak fishing establishment. The rest of this year will be used getting the safety gear and accessories needed to outfit my kayak correctly and myself dressed for immersion.

What a great sport and nature experience.

Thanks much to you all.
David

Hey David,  long time since we've seen you around here.  How is the house going?

Huli is a Hawaiian term.  I don't believe it is an acronym.

Thanks Allen for the reply. I had no idea you would remember the short time I was on this forum before I moved to Ferndale.

The house is a big project when you are doing almost all of it by yourself, which I am doing. Exterior doors and the roof are on. All electrical and plumbing are done inside but I am going to wait until the siding is finished to start the insulation and sheetrock. Those two items will be done by others. The installation of the metal roof was also done by others. The siding will be starting within a week or so. At present I am finishing the installation of plywood soffit material. (underside of the eves)

We are hoping to be in by Christmas.

I feel truly blessed to be able to live here in such a wonderful place and to have the chance next year to become a member of our very own local kayak fishermen group.

Thanks for asking and take care.
Sincerely,
David
