Ocean was pretty flat today so Ralph and I launched at Sunset. Swell was ok but the water was dirty colored and lots of junk in the water liimited our success. I caught six small blacks that i released and ended up with one medium in the bag. Got tired of fighting the crude in the water so i only lasted an hour or so. Loaded up and headed home, pulled in the driveway and said to myself.."It's early, i got energy, I'm going Salmon fishing".

I switched out my gear and poles and headed out to the Chandler brudge launch on the Coos River. launched and peddled down to the top of the troll, hooked up a  cut plug and started my troll. Halfway down the first pass, Whamm!! this beautiful King just slams my bait and starts peeling drag. I was kinda stunned because of my dismall luck on Salmon overall and fumbled for my pole in the holder. I gained control and fought him for a couple good runs and a couple short bursts and he nicely headed into the net. Felt way more coordinated then the first season i fished for Salmon on the yak, and got the stink off early this season. What a great day!!

I got a new truck too!! the white '95 chevy 4x4 on the left, love it

See ya on the water..

Just teasing you Roy.     That's a fine nook you have there!!!  Waaaay to start the season.  Something tells me we'll be seeing more shots of you like that (with fresh Chinook that is  :D)

Dang, that fish looks like a springer in your AOTY photos.  Gotta love the purple shine on its back!

Nice work CBY! Nothing better than chromey salmon. BTW, who's truck is that on the right? Didn't know there were any Hobie team members out that way.

Thanks Z. That's Ralph's truck. We both actually applied for being on the Hobie fishing team and were recently accepted. I just got my box of goodies last week. Were pretty stoked to be the first Oregon Coast fishing team members!!

Now i just need a huge sticker for the Squarestream...

Nice fish there CBY.. and dont let spot tease ya to bad.... i like the shorts and boots..  ;D

CBY.. have you thought about taking it down to a graphics place and having them make you a decal. Or you could find a copier continue to blow it up till you have your size you want and then trace it out and hand paint in on the squarestream.  When you do blow it up it will in multiple sheets of paper. I did that with some of the Picture quilts i have made.

Good idea on the graphics idea. I have a friend up in Vancouver that owns Chaos Graphics.  I'm sure he could style up your shiny lunch box RV.
