Wasn't able to get the kayak out, so that was a bummer. Fishing was a little slow for this time of year, but the crabbing was excellent.

Saturday 7.30 AM - 11 AM, Fishing: 4 dudes, 9 takedowns, 7 fish to the boat, 6 fish in the box. My brother-in-law caught (released) his first Chinook ever. He also caught (kept) his first ever Silver (3 of them).

Saturday 2 PM  - 4 PM, Crabbing: 4 dudes, 4 slip rings, 4 traps, 15 keepers.

Sunday 7.30 AM - 9 AM, Fishing: 4 dudes, 2 takedowns, 1 fish in the box, 1 Chinook released. Couldn't keep the boat straight, so off the water quickly.

Monday 9 AM - 12 PM, Crabbing: 4 dudes, 4 slip rings, 4 traps, 3 rings, 15 keepers. 1 Canon Powershot SD750 overboard into the drink.

The hatchery fish are in and we figured out how to get them to bite.

I managed a wild coho on both saturday and monday.  Sunday was just to nasty.. Just hit it around the High tide shift and was done in about an hour each day (paddle time not included).  Worked out sweet, hung out with the wife in the morning, burned down to Nehalem from Netarts and got my fish, and home for dinner. Guess I should have stuck around and ground it out for a hatchery or two. Might be worth a trip down this week.

Save your Wild Silver punches until later in the season when the bruisers come in. I think we're only allowed five wild fish.

Isn't there a quota of 1000 wild fish and then they close it?  I figured it would not last long and might as well get them while I can.  It will be time for tilla nooks in a week or two ;D

Yeah, 1000 fish quota. I forgot about that! Herring strips and prawn spinners worked well for us, as did casting small Stee-Lees near breaching fish.
