Howdy all,

Gonna try it again this week.  PC for rockies and maybe lingzilla at 6ish, off the water by 1, and then up to Nehalem for high tide and a shot at coho.

Anyone interested?

Drop me a PM if you need any specifics on where/how to find any particular problem species.
I still contend that I'm just playing jack-rabbit to give all you AOTY dogs something to chase.     At least, that's what I'm telling the girlfriend......  ;)

Hello everyone. This is my first post. I have been reading the posts at this site and have learned alot. I got my ocean kayak this year and have been fishing a fair amount. I looked at a picture of Bsteve's lingcod on his yellow Caper and bought a Caper.  Afterwards, I saw someone with a prowler and thought the center storage and fishfinder compartment was good and I bought that too.  I ordered ocean kayat torque last week and it is on its way to me. Torque will allow me to troll long hours for salmon without expending any energy. I am going to have 3 kayaks soon. I have been out to PC approximately 7-8 times after seeing so many fish caught. I love kayak fishing so much more than fishing from the shores for surf perch.  I am planning to go out tomorrow at PC and go to nehalem for salmon afternoon.  Is wind wave at 4 ft, swell at 3 ft at 8 seconds not too bad of condition?          Scott

Welcome Scott.  I look forward to reading a detailed report from you and Madoc on Thursday.

The 3 ft swell at 8 seconds is pretty good, but the 4 ft wind wave (and its associated 15 mph winds) might make things a bit choppy.

I'm really going to be playing it by ear (actually by eye) tomorrow.  3ft@ 8 seconds is fine, but like Brian said, 4 feet of windwaves on top of that isn't exactly ideal.

If I don't end up on the water in the morning, I am still going to shoot for Nehalem at afternoon high tide.  Morning plan B may be Tillamook or Nestucca Bay, as i haven't explored either one.

You don't need to wait for high tide at Nehalem.
