Fished Nehalem again today. Couldn't find the second hatchery Coho for a limit, but bonked two Silvers and released two Chinook - one a Jack. I'm assuming that a Chinook closure includes jacks, too, yes?

Spotted two other kayak fishermen way downstream from where I was. I think they were right under the 101 bridge. One had an orange flag. Couldn't pick out much detail with my binocs.

It's an early bite, that Nehalem. Caught my fish before nine. Switched to a boat and fished with my brother and grandpa. They each picked up one fish. One was a nice Chinook. It sure is fun letting those brisers go. Got off the water at 1 PM. Kwikfish and a blue hoochie w/ a herring filet below worked today early. Plug cut blues accounted for the other two fish.

Had scouts on the water from the Jaws on up. Lots of fish caught from the State Park on down. Sounds like there was a big gap between the park and Wheeler. I didn't hear of a single fish caught from that area.

That was me and Steelheadr.  We trolled alvins from Wheeler up to the bridge and back with no love, and then drifted down to Brighton.  Still haven't landed me a Coho.

I talked with one of the ODFW checkers at Wheeler, he said about 200 fish have been counted so far,  So there is at least another weekend left.

200 cohos or 200 native cohos?
