Rod Builder supplies

so, i'm sitting here bored outta my mind, fighting some flu like symptoms, and decide to go thru my fishing bookmarks and clear out the dead ones.

i get to the st. croix site, just for S&G's i flip thru it and find their dealer listings.. so, i start looking for local ones, and in the process, find a rod building supplier just up the road from me in Puyallup..

hope this helps those of you looking for fix up or build your own.

They also have fly tying gear. Being local, they have a lot of fly tying materials that's common for patterns used in the NW.  They also have good advice on rod building for many of the techniques we have in the NW though I haven't tried them for kayak fishing advice.  Guess that's what this forum is for.   

Another place, if you are up on the northern O.P. is Fishermen's Supply in Sequim. Its located on Carlsborg Rd. about 1/4 mile N of Hwy 101, on the right.  Carlsborg is the first stoplight on Hwy 101 going West after you cross the Dungeness River.

I picked up a "cosmetic blem" Rainshadow 9' 2pc 8wt flyrod blank there for only $15 a few years ago. The price was $30, but I only wanted the top half to replace a broken top section on a rod I already had. The top section fit my broken rod's lower half perfectly. The store owner threw in the bottom half for free, since he had no use for it after I bought the top half!*   Whadda deal! They have a ton of rod-building stuff in there.

* Then I went out and bought a new TFO 8wt, and never did re-build my old one. Might have to make a new 8 wt from that blank this Winter.
