Is anyone dealing with whiplash?  I sure would like to find a yak seat that would have a workable high back with a neck/head rest and the ability to tilt the back with headrest enough when desired, to rest the neck/head into while peddling my Hobie Revolution.  Any ideas??
Thank you, Holt

Dang, Holt. You get set up with something like that, and you'll fall asleep in the shipping lanes!
That would work pretty well on a Hobie with Mirage Drive, though. Good idea! Just be well rested before you head out!

The problem I see with a seat that's that tall is that it's going to raise the kayak's center of gravity dramatically. It could make the kayak very unstable.

holt,
never heard of one that tall, but maybe you could try these guys; http://www.surftosummit.com/ they might be able to help you design one.

oh, also check out toms [top kayaker dot net]. i believe he has a "
kayaking with disabilities" thread that might put you onto some one who could help, too. vaguely, i seem to think there was an othropedist, or an articficial limb maker who got involved in making special orders like that..

and i'd have the same reservation Zee has regarding the height

Zee, WR and Conehead:  Thank you for your comments, good point regarding height of seat and tippiness of yak. Will sure keep that in mind as I explore what might work.  Good leads WR. Conhead, thanks for the extra sleep advice ::) - let's go hook some chum's with the 8 weights.

sure, glad to help.

more i think about this, i think Native has the highest back seat in the yak fishing world. CHM & hooknose both having Natives, i'm gonna defer to them on that . i do recall last year with hooknose it seemed he was sitting n a lounge chair as we paddled up the Nisq.

Whoa, I just "woke up" my computer (wasn't off, just snoozin') and found I'm still logged on from earlier. ::) Guess i didn't log off, and just wandered away to my shop and got into a project.... :banjo:

Yeah, the Native seat is like an adjustable beach chair and is quite comfortable to kick back in while chillin' out of the main stream in some remote frogwater. Doesn't have any neck support, though.

Might try for Chums on the Canal tomorrow. Would be N of Hoodsport. Might try to get some lake fishing in, too, on my way back. Gotta check the tides. Isabella or Nahwatzel or somewhere. Or else check the Satsop. Gotta formulate a plan. Lost w/o a plan. ???

Holt, How was Offut? Didya connect with any trout?
