wilderness users with the slide track systems have a new toy.

we've been discussing side mounting a FF transducer using various methods, and while browsing thru HOOK1 just a bit ago, i ran into this;  http://kayakfishinggear.com/slidetrack-transducerdeploymentarmusedwiththesideboard.aspx

looks like you don't haveta drill anymore holes.

I've been considering getting one of those. The major concern that I have is if the amount of drag it creates is noticeable when paddling. I am still undecided as to whether a cleanly mounted and out-of-the-way shoot-thru-da-hull transducer might still be the better option over having the transducer hanging over the side on a bracket, creating not only drag, but also another place for your fishing line to seek out and get fouled.

There is also a smaller mounting plate available, if you just want a base for the sonar unit.

I haven't picked up any of the slide track accessories yet.

We just got a shipment of slidetrax accessories. I don't think they've been received yet, but they are at the Jantzen Beach shop.

FYI I have slidetrax accessories coming out of my ears. I think we got 10 of everything avail....I don't even know what half this stuff is.

guess it's time to start pimping a tarpon or commander at the shop to figure it out.

Yeah, a lot more manfs are getting the hint that we don't like drilling holes in things we'd like to float us. Thanks to RAM's FF mount I didn't have to drill either.
