Found: FG Current Designs Solstice GTS HV

Well my sea kayak anchor system in theory was ingenious, in reality it was a total failure.
 
Although that was dissapointing, I did find a FG Current Designs Solstice GTS HV floating loose in the Columbia this morning around Hayden Island, hung up in a dock eddy with a bunch of woody debris etc.
 
Looks to have been in the water for quite a while. The cockpit was covered with racoon hair and the entire boat covered in algae. However it looked to be well maintained otherwise (no color fading on a 1997 boat) and the glass was in good shape.
 
I have the boat at Alder Creek now. If you can I.D. the contents inside and/or the serial number, I will happilly return it. I will wait for someone to claim it for 1 month before selling it.
 
Just another reason to put your phone# & name on your gear and boat.

PS- whoever you are I hope you are OK. I'm pretty sure it blew off a floating home or something, and didn't have a person in it.

I have found lots of things on the river when the water is up from a jet ski, to several car toppers, canoe etc etc.  Was informed by Clack County sherif river patrol ( I called to see what my rights of salvage were) that anything with a value approx $100 bucks or more needs to be returned to the appropriate river patrol sherif's office (they actually came and got the jet ski   I wanted it ).  Salvage laws aren't what folks think they are and I was informed it was like selling/keeping stolen property.  If nobody clams the item in I think a year you can go purchase it at the yearly auction.  Just giving you a heads up...

good to know. As I'm pretty sure it came off a floating home within 1/4 mile of the shop, I think there's better odds of finding the owner keeping it on the island. It's a pretty small community and I've already put the word out. I'm sure it won't be here long.
 
If it's not picked up in the next week or so I'll turn it in to the sherriff's.

and here i thought it was only worth about $80 I'd give ya $90 for it!

I sure wish the    would crack down on all these damn joyriding raccoons!

racoons have become a real PITA. I know. they are ferocious on hayden island. no respect for athority.

River otters are the bane of boat owners here in Brookings-Harbor.
 That crap rivals or beats a coon poop any day, and a greasy mess to try and wash off!
