I started building this one last month.  Its a two boat trailer(one on top, One on bottom) with a 15 gal wash down tank.  Battery and pump not done yet.  I wanted a trailer that was more for daytripping to the coast, that I could leave the yak and gear on.  I was going to put side boxes on but rethought that for now, at least until I am happy with the frame layout.  I am not a big fan of the yakima rollers either, wouldent do that again.  Seems like I read something to that effect befor some place.  Hopeing to get the fenders trimmed out and light boxes on this weekend in time for a trip to DP bay Monday.  There is alot of grass to mow this weekend as well so who knows.  Let me know what ya think.

Looks good.  Did you build it from scratch or modify an existing trailer?

Nice!  Simplicity at it's finest.

No light weight kayak only trailer for me (would be nice though).  Unfortunately I have too damn many hobbies where I have to design and build my utility/kayak/ATV/camping gear trailer to be used by all these and some at the same time.  :-\

Stainless and Aluminum would reduce the need for paint, which is my only dilema at this point. Not sure which route I'll take, roll on, or squirt on?

Where did you get the axle, or did you fab that as well?  I have a small utility trailer I use for hauling my yaks, but i would like to make a smaller lighter trailer so I don't have to keep disassembling the rack from the existing trailer when I need to use it for other things.

Thanks.

Craig

I'm thinking about a trailer to tow behind a bike.  How heavy is the one you built and could you make one with bicycle wheels?

VA's putting me on some meds that won't allow me to drive my truck for several months which pretty much sucks for my AOTY stats.

Thanks HG

That looks pretty cool.  I guess the next step is to see if I'll be able to ride the bike up any kind of hill first.

The axle is a dexter torsion.
I dont know how much it weighs for sure yet, probably topping 120 lbs with the axle.

I will make sure and let you know when I am going to be heading by you sniffer.  Maybe we can hit DP together and save you a bike ride every once in a while.
