I have been trying to figure out how to increase my numbers while fishing the Willy for salmon, I learned a few things today!!  Number 1.....  If your leader is too long below the salmon spreader its a bit difficult to get the fish close enough to net.  If anybody was lucky enough to watch it was pretty funny.  I had to hold the middle of the pole while dipping my reel and the rest of my pole out the other side.  It hurts a little bit when the fish decides to run AGAIN and the line rips thru your hand.  Number 2.......I suppose a bigger net would help.  Number 3..... you can just sit and wait til a fish jumps into your boat!!  About an hour after I brought the above mentioned fish aboard I found myself near some jumping and rolling salmon, I turned around for just a second to point it out to the guy on the bank and felt a THUD on my leg only to find a salmon in my kayak on my leg (and NO, it wasn't mine from earlier escaping).  I did the dumb stare as he rolled himself back into the water.  Pretty crazy!  Last week had a beaver or otter pop up next to my kayak and actually swat the side of my boat.  Anybody else have a dumb or funny story??

Great Story!  Where were you?  I've been thinking about tomorrow and how crowded it will be everywhere.  There were alot of boats at Oregon City and current... ???

Went out last week and experienced a wicked current below the falls. I'd put it around 4mph, and that was between cedaroak and the clack. It was slow going in a 21 foot tandem. And there was a ton of duck camo stuffed into jet sleds. Multnomah channel was fairly empty this morning, with only 5 boats out.

I have been heading out in the Lake Oswego area as there is not much boat traffic and there is not much current near George Rodgers park so its a fairly easy go.  Bank and boat anglers have been taking quite a few nice salmon for days!  I think the whole Willy is good, you just have to be patient and watch what all of the boats are doing when they land fish after fish.
