Went to Devils lake with my brother, his kids and my 84 year old mom Sunday.  I finally out fished my 15 year old nephew!!  Kayak fishing rules.  The 3 other fishermen caught 1 more fish than I did. 19 total in 3 hours.  Do scuplin count?  Think I'll save him to put on a hook next time I head out on the ocean.  My commercial fisherman buddy in Newport says he traps scupin and they are candy to Ling cod.
I trolled from the start, while they power baited it...well, the guys off the dock had been murdering 'em.  Killing planters ain't much to brag about, even these nice 12'ers some of em.  But what happened with the last fish was, as is the good time my mom had.  So the last fish hit and came up and jumped like they all had been doing, when the next thing I knew, KaSplash!!!  This Osprey takes my fish and starts taking off with it.  I start yelling, we wouldn't mind feeding those cool sea eagles, but my dads string of willow-leaf trolling blades from 60 years ago, never.  A few tugs and he dropped the fish, which had some cool talon holes, which were bleeding profusely when I got him in.
