Penn 320GT2

I have a chance to purchase a Penn 320GT2 for $70.00. It is brand new and never touched water. I don't have a good reel as of now.

A. Is this a good price?
B. What situations will the Penn 320GT2 be good for? (General fishing, downrigger, jigging...)

I appreciate any suggestions.

I forgot to add that the Penn is the USA model and not the China one.

Overall I want to know if my $70.00 is worth it or if I should get a few more $$ together for something else.

From a quick internet search, you're saving $30 although you aren't getting a "free" rod with it.  You might want to read some of the reviews out there on Cabelas or BPS's sites.  I think you might be better off with one of their legacy models (or maybe I'm thinking of the GTO  ) that seem to have better ratings.

FWIW I found an old Penn 209 (red bakelight sides, USA) at a thrift store for $5 that cleaned up very nicely and works flawlessly.  You might consider saving a few bones and checking out your local second hand stores too..
