I am going to try my luck for catfish at swofford pond this Thursday 3 June. If anyone wants to meet up, I will be in the Orange OC Caper.

Going to pick up some stink bait at Dick's. They have a small section dedicated to catfishing.

God, how I'd love to join you...

Skip the stink bait and just stop at the grocery store and pick up chicken livers.

+1

Chicken livers, or catch a small handful of bream, blue gill, sunfish and cut them up (check regs first make sure it's legal). That's how we did it back in the south. outfished stink bait every time, and nicer to handle.

Your right. When I lived in Oklahoma that is all we used. I think I will use night crawlers with #6 baitholder hook (good for cats, bass, trout)  until it gets dark, then I will tie on a #2 hook and uses chicken livers.

I'd recommend skipping the night crawlers.  When the GF and I were down there, she used night crawlers and had 4 or so of them picked off before she was able to get a full commitment from the cat she caught.  Livers are harder to get off the hook.

Fished Swofford pond Friday evening after it rained all day. Got a couple bites, but none in hand.

Will try again when the weather warms.
