Saturday:

What do you do when your fish catchinest buddy hits town for the day with his wife and kids in tow?  Why, you send them shopping and take him fishing of course.
Neither of us had caught a Shad before so we packed up the boys and headed off to Bonneville.  I knew that if anybody could figure it out in a hurry, it'd be Jed.  Sure enough, within 5 minutes he was into his 1st.  A half hour later, I managed a nice fatty.  And, not to be outdone, immediately after mine, Spatter was in to his 1st.  We didn't get many but it was a lot of fun, especially on light tackle.
Playing with the hungry oversize sturgeon wasn't too bad either.  He'd follow the scent to wherever your stringer was and try to push you out of the way to get to them.

Sunday:

Found a couple of hours in the afternoon and decided to float around Hagg for a while.  Good call.  While the fishing wasn't red hot, I found some fatties hanging out on a submerged reef.  There were LMB's, SMB's and Panfish all in the same area.

If you want the specifics of how I was fishing for them, you'd better pick up a copy of the May issue of Northwest Sportsman before they put out the new June issue.    >:D  Or maybe just ask.

I still say I'm not in the AOTY hunt this year.  I've just been fishing for fun, practicing some of the skills I've learned in the last two years.  Every once in a while you just get lucky I guess.

Thanks GD!  It was a little slow but the epic fight that smallie gave made it worth while.
