Cool Fishing Knot

Not shur if this is common knowledge, its new to me and i like it. took a few trys but i think i got it down. thought id share.

The finished product kind of reminds me of the Palomar knot, minus the doubled line through the eye. Used that one a lot (Palomar) with Texas rigged plastic worms while bass fishing. It's a pretty stout knot that would stand up to the bullet weight banging it up, plus it's real easy to tie.

Here is one you'll probably like. I use it with crankbaits, or I'll tie a really small one for wooly buggers, and Clouser flies to let them wiggle a bit more. I give it just enough loop to give the lure/fly a little wiggle room, but not enough to look crazy and unnatural hanging out in front.

would be interesting to do a break test on this one---I suspect it will break at the place where the loop tightens around the running part of the line, possible a friction point.

   My all time fave, which tested consistently at 100% (ie, never a break at the knot, always in the running line)  is the "eye-crosser", which is a twice thru the eye and a 3-turn Uniknot.  Easy to tie, snugs down well with spit, and does not slip or break.  Unlike the Palomar and Berkely knots, which were not 100% knots (surprising, in the case of the Palomar, my former standby).  Nothing wrong with a 5-turn improved clinch, though.....esp with 20# plus mono!
