Went to Lake Kachess near Snoqualamie Pass with the family on Sunday and did some yak fishing.  Although I have skied there in the winter this was my 1st trip to this lake in the Summer.  This is a really pretty lake which is far enough from I 90 to make it seem remote.  The only downside is the noisy flotilla of Jet Skis and power boats.  Amazing how one abnoxious noisy Jet Ski can ruin the serenity for miles around.  Not familiar with this lake so I decided to troll the deeper water for lunkers. I used my baitcasting setup and trolled minnow and shrimp looking flies using my downrigger.  Had several missed takes but did hook and land a nice long skinny Cutthroat.  The fish took the fly deep and was bleeding so I harvested him for the frying pan.  Not much in this skinny fish's stomach except a few spiders and bugs.

Nice report!  Cooper lake is not far from there, has better scenery, and doesn't allow motors.  Look it up if you are interested in trolling the top of the water column for some decent sized browns.
