Rufus Lake Trip, Last Week In Sept.

Me and another yakker from Colville have some time off the last week in September and we're planning on hitting Rufus Lake mid-week. Neither of us have ever been there before, but I've been reading the reports archived here and it looks like a great place, as long as the wind doesn't blow us out. I think our "Plan B" is to head back up to Roosevelt Lake if the wind gets too bad.

Would anybody like to share some tips for us? Most of my trout trolling for triploids has been in the SF Bay area where I troll various J-5 and J-7 Rapalas, bright orange grubs, and needlefish. Are there any other local tactics I should be aware of? I've had the most success in other areas using fire tiger and rainbow trout patterns, but I'll be bringing a full arsenal of brookie, silver, gold, and brown trout Rapalas. I was also thinking of bringing the fly rod with a sinking line to troll some wooly buggers.

Should the wind gods wish to cooperate, I hope to be in for a nice 10lb trout sleigh ride 

im not real sure about that lake, or the triploids, but i have had good luck catching trout using small/medium silver, or red flatfish.  good luck! and give us a report- i have been wanting to make that trip myself
