Is anyone going to do this derby in Elliott bay, or has anyone done this in the past? I just moved to Alki so I was thinking about giving it a try.

I may have started this in the wrong spot. I should have put it in the events. :)

Never done it but it's a great place to learn to mooch. A pretty protected area for yaks w/ decent blackmouth fishing.

pretty decent hole right in front of Salty's.  I used to live on Beach Drive, fished the Bay a lot in the 1980's, in my first yak, a sit-in Chinook rotomolded.  Used to paddle over to Ivar's from Don Armeni ramp in the evening, for workouts!!

Thats a pretty interesting Seattle Times article about the history of the tournament. The salmon size trending is pretty sad however. :'(
