It looks like I have most of Thursday free, so I am planning on heading out to the Willamette for the sturgeon opener.  The weather is going to be cold and wet but the river should be in ok shape.  If anyone want to join me let me know.

sounds like fun! be careful out there

i'll be working, but a buddy of mine will be out.  Scouted out a few areas the other day with him (he's got a live tv show coming soon, so had a fun time finding good sturgeon holes within wireless range), and saw some BIG sturgeon jumping out there... and a couple sea lions...

There is a 22 inch min size for lings.  If you are taking sturgeon the slot is 38 in. to 54 in fork length.

My 2011 skunk fest is over, I ended up with two shakers and lost a big one that swam towards me and shook the hook.  I think NWKA mojo helped me today as I put a NWKA sticker to my boat before I launched.  The boaters were having similar luck as me but I did see 2 keepers and one oversize get hooked out of over a dozen boats.
