For the last few years I've been using a knot of my own design (the Noggin Blood Knot) to attach fluoro leaders to braided line. While this knot has proven to be very dependable, it is sometimes difficult to tie.

Over the weekend I heard about a new knot (new to me) called the "cigar" knot. At least that's what I thought the host of the fishing show called it... After much searching it turned out that it's actually the "Seaguar" knot. It's very simple to tie - First try it only took about thirty seconds to tie while reading the simple instructions - and has a nice small profile. Hopefully it will prove to be as strong or stronger than the knot I've been using.

Has anyone here ever used this knot? If so, what do you think of it?

Here'a a link to the instructions - http://www.seaguar.com/seaguar-community/seaguar-knot.htm

IT's a pretty well-known knot, only downside is that it can whack your top guide when casting jigs, as it's a larger knot than the worm or bimini-allbright.  Easy to tie, tho!!!  Think I'll just go to the bench and tie it up!

That does look really easy. I've been using the Improved Albright for a couple years now. It's really strong, and ultra low profile. Not near as easy, but comes pretty natural once you tie it a few times.
