Hello all,

Yep, another newbie here.  Bought an outback on a whim and had my shake down cruise yesterday.  First time ever in a kayak and have to say that I can not wait for my fishing package to arrive.  Think I am going to walk down to the river now and get some more practice in.  Anyways, wanted to introduce myself.

So you're the new yak-fisher in the south-waterfront neighborhood!  I thought I smelled one hanging around!  ;)  Welcome aboard!  We'll have to meet on the water soon!

Welcome.

Tell us about your "Fishing Package"

Oh man, Alan would just flip out if I started in on this one.  Even if I kept it to simple rod jokes.  Or thats-what-she-saids.  Sigh.  Anyway, welcome, gon-fishn.  This place is pretty cool.  I think you'll like it here.

Thanks everyone!  Must have been too early for me, did not even think about  the 'package' part.  What I am waiting on is the usual; finder, holders, trolley kit etc...  Did head out again this afternoon for the first time with a pole to see what I need to work on, prettymuch everything I learned.  Looking forward to making new friends and getting out on the water.

Buying one on a whim is cool, but outfitting one on a whim is silly. Fish it once or twice "stock" then you'll get a better idea of where the things you want/need belong.

Welcome to the board.  Take Ling Bangers advice and fish a few times off your unrigged boat before adding any accessories.  When you are out there think about places to mount things and make sure they are not in your way or in the way or other accessories.  See you on the water.
