I just checked the ODFW page and found nothing stating it was closed.  Apparently, they only counted 135 boats last weekend with 50 fish kept. I would assume that this means it is still open.  I may go out Friday if the boss lets me take the day off. If anyone wants to meet up let me know.  I will probably fish the area around George Rodgers Park again. Its easy access from both the Milwaukie side and the west side.

Yep, its open

John North said the other day that counts after opening weekend have been very low.  I don't remember the exact estimate but it was much lower than I expected..  At current rates they're thinking we'll be open til the 12th...

I sure hope you're right Issac.  That would give me my only shot at a keeper.

Yep, this will likely be the last weekend. About 500 fish left on quota.

Darn, I had to go to the Spokane area for work this week and just got back.  Can't go tomorrow either.  Looks like I will  have to hit the Columbia for some AOTY points.  Good luck to you all.

Here's the news:

http://www.dfw.state.or.us/fish/fish_counts/willamette/2011/03_15_11notice.pdf

In state action Oregon approved the following Willamette River fishery rule change:

Effective 12:01 AM Thursday March 17, 2011, retention of white sturgeon in the lower Willamette River downstream from Willamette Falls, including Multnomah Channel and the Gilbert River is prohibited.

Catch and release of sturgeon may continue during retention closures.

CNR should be off the hook this weekend.

Those high muddy waters seem to build an appetite in strugeon.
