Weather was supposed to be nice today right?  Well Spot, Swiftdraw and myself put in for a Springer troll on the WA side of Columbia across from Government Island.  Below is a video repot.  Note in the video I call Chuck, Craig...my bad.

No Springers in our bellies tonight.  But it was an adventure.  Fun to meet NWKA guys in the flesh! 8)

Glad I tried it yesterday,  when I heard the wind this morning at my house, I knew was lucky by picking yesterday.  Still the same result no fish in the boat.  Looked at the ODFW fish report that was posted on the 16th,  fish count at Troutdale was 0.10 fish per boat, thats not very good odds.  :'(
If it wasn't for flashbacks, I'd have no memories at all.

Lots of hours can go into catching a salmon (or anything for that matter!).  What a payoff though.  Keep at it - good luck!   :)
See you at Gimme Shelter

SwiftDraw (aka Chuck),
Good to meet you too.  Thanks for finding that launch spot.  And thanks for the strapping on the cart! But please,  bring an extra chair next time.   :D

FYI...the video was an attempt at dry humor.  I was not disappointed with the day, we gave 'er a go and that's all you can do sometimes.  Checked out ifish and no one in that area was doing good on Sunday.

I wouldn't consider the day a loss.  We found a new launch that puts you on a good fishery and got to take a paddle with friends.  Not a bad day at all.

We've still got some time before the Columbia shuts down.  When it does Chuck, I'd encourage you to pick up a one day Oregon license and come hit the Willie with us.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain
