Going to do a little scouting @ swofford pond this weekend. Taking my Son in the Canoe w/trolling motor attached.

I plan on going back in the Yak in the mid April if anyone wants to meet up.

Make sure you're rigged for weeds.  LOTS of growth in that lake, pretty much the entire lake has growth a few inches below the surface.

Not sure that I'll make Swofford Pond anytime soon, but looking forward to musky fishing again. Probably sometime around June I want to try for one on my 10wt flt rod.

"looking forward to musky fishing again"

Me too now that we found them.

I have a Cabelas gift card that's burning a hole in my pocket. They have a Med weight  Pfluger spin cast combo on sale I want to try with.

That would be good for those swim baits we were throwing. I came up with another plan for'em too. I'll fill you in when the time comes ;)

Well we arrived in Mossyrock Friday afternoon & had the Jon boat out on Mayfield lake around 4pm. We fished near the trout hatchery for an hour with out a bite, so we headed to the Tilton River cove. Same story there, so tried the hatchery again untill just before dark without a bite.

Worke up early Saturday and when we arrived at swofford the wind was blowing 30 MPH and white cap waves. We fished from the bank for awile without a bite.

After lunch we decided to see if the Kokanee started hitting at Riffe Lake Dam. There was about a dozen folks fishing with most having 2-3 fish on stringers. We tried for a couple hours using cocktail shimp & slip bobber. We must of missed the bite as we never got a bite.

Overall not the best fishing trip, but nice spending time with my kid.
