My first real trip to Area 4 this year, couldn't find a keeper Ling but bagged a limit of Sea Bass, mmm good!  Soaked in light salt brine with lemon, a little Johnny's salt and into the pan with fresh garlic and butter, (don't try adding the lemon to the pan, it curdles the butter).  Simple but yummy.

Forgot my camera but what a beautiful day, saw some elk on the way out real close up.

Anybody headed out my way for Halibut?  It opens Thursday.

Nice haul.

It's a long ways to MA 4 for me, but I hope to be out there in a couple of weeks.

Nice catch!
I was up there last weekend and had a similar experience you did; there were lots of blacks willing to bite but the lings required more patience, luckily I got into couple plus a big cabbie that I let go. Like you, I also saw some elk on the way up there - did you happen to see them right after crossing the Hoko river?

Y'all let me know if you plan to come out, I'll give you my cell #.  Would love to get some pointers from some more experienced yak fishers.  I saw the elk on 112 just as you come onto to Physt River Tree Farm, very close to the road, wish I'd had the camera.
