Fishing was S-L-O-W
Everybody I spoke with said "you should have been here yesterday" (actually Thursday)  I was really PO'd because I was supposed to be there Thursday. Oh well.

Gave Mike the usual 1.5 hr head start, arrived at the Guard rail hole, then went back and forth to the car too many times. You know you are a regular when you find stuff at the ramp you left the last time you were there. By the time I was ready to launch Mike crept up on me and said the bite was off and we should have been there Thursday, "lets move". That was easy because I had the trailer. Put both rigged boats on and we were off.

We went to PC sporting goods for some local 411 and they said "you should have been here Thursday" and "you could try at the jaws" or upriver.  I'd booked a room a couple of miles upstream so Mike put his gear in my car, I'd check in, and we'd float back to PC sports.

The plan worked perfectly. Just no fish ::) Tons of boats, a few bankies, and not even a bump. Saw one boat with a nice nook over the side but everybody else was just having a nice day fishing (but not catching). I did get one little Sculpin (funny how much they look like little Lings). Everyone was fishing bobbers and bait so Mike and I trolled spinners back to the ramp. I helped him load his boat, left mine at the store and he drove me back to my car. The shuttle thing works REALLY well. Now we gotta catch some fish.

The Sunday fishing was preempted due to a miscalculated spousal return. I thought they we coming home Tuesday instead of tthis morning (!!!!!!!) oh well.
BTW I read the outdoors column in the Sunday paper and it said the fishing yesterday was slow in T-bay too (and he should have been there Thursday) ;D

3wt: Sounds like you did ok!

I'm thinking I might bring the flyrod down to some south Sound areas on Saturday and look for some early season chums.

Hmm... no Washington license here, but the opportunity to fish chums on a fly is pretty tempting...
