I was gonna post my new flag/nav light/camera pole and thought I did a decent job (I really do suck at technical handiwork) then Insayn posted his DIY flag mount. But I guess there's gotta be balance in this world so he'll show you serious craftsmanship and I'll show you.. well.. you decide.

I needed a flag pole that could also carry a nav light high up so that if I was out early and there were some waves I'd always be visible. I also wanted a place to mount a GoPro cam so thought making an all in one might work. Rawkfish had mounted something in his tank well which made good sense since it was on center line and still reachable from the sitting position.

So, used 1/2" PVC and a Scotty mount. 1/2" fits right inside the mount and just shaved down the locking nub inside into a wedge shape. The PVC wedges itself in pretty good. Then bought a light from paddlers supply which had a rubber collar for fitting. Epoxied that to the PVC and 1" PVC to the other end. Shaved down some of the light so it also wedged itself in too.

So far so good.. just can't paddle by any golf courses. FOUR!!!

Zee that looks great and works.  That's all that matters.
Those Scotty mounts and 1/2" PVC go great together.
Nice and snug fit.

Bryce, you;re too modest. thats pretty good DIY and dead nuts simple. Wali would be so proud since it's cheap to make too..
