Dana and i headed down to Simpson Reef this morning. We had a great time even though the wind came  up early. We both caught numerous fish including a nice Ling each.

The wind really kicked up in the afternoon and we rode the south blow all the way back to Sunset without even pedaling at 2 MPH! It was great, that was a relaxing trip.

Got a pic of Dana , the neighbors, god they stink! and the one that got away....from a Ling.

See ya on the water..

The ocean was glassy when we launched giving us enough time for an easy pedal to Simpson's reef.  It was a great day fishing for me,  1 big Ling,  2 cabs, and I'm not sure how many rock fish I caught.  As Roy said the trip back from Simpson's was an easy ride.

CBY, in your second video about 4:39 into it you are turning your boat around.  Something popped up behind you, was it a sea lion?  :o

Yea, It's a Sea lion. I was getting out of it's way. It popped up a few times coming my direction but i'm sure it didn't have any intent other then getting to his rock..

earlier there were thre juveniles playing and rough housing about 25 feet from mee. Glad they didn't want to play with me...I kinda slid away to a safer feeling distance.

You have to expect close encounters there, it is one of the largest seal/sea lion haul outs on the west coast.
