The wife and I hit Whidbey Island on Saturday. We decided to leave the kayaks at home and cast from the beach at Fort Casey.  We caught rockfish (including one that was blaze orange), flounder and a baby coho, all on buzz bombs.  The only other fish I saw caught up and down the beach was a ling...pretty sure the guy kept it.  Didn't see a single pink jump, despite fishing through high tide.  Later, we heard there were some fish at Bush Point.

Took the kayak to Picnic Point yesterday and wheeled it down to the beach. Trolled down deep for a couple hours with no results. Tried casting without luck. I saw one pink jump in about three hours. Didn't see a fish landed from any of the boats or shore casters. Talked to a couple other guys who also saw a lone jumper for several hours worth of fishing.

Beautiful weekend, though.

Thanks for the report. I'm going out this weekend but may head farther north/south after reading your report. Anybody fish around Kayak Point lately?
