I'm planning on getting out the next few weekends to target pinks in Elliott Bay and the Duwammish.  Do you guys have any advice as to good parts of the bay and river to target?

I'd also like to find a good place to launch near the Duwammish.  Earlier this summer I went out scouting the Port's public access points and found:
1) Duwamish Public Access, Terminal 105 closed
2) Terminal 18 Public Access Park and Diagonal Ave South Pacific Access both seemed like they'd be difficult to maneuver if I were going out solo (serious drop offs to the water with rock etc.).
3)I tried to find the Jack Perry Memorial Viewpoint but was blocked by the 99 rebuild that's going on at the time.  Any idea if the Viewpoint is accessible now or if there's a way around the construction?

Finally, when they say "unlawful to use forage fish jig gear," are they just prohibiting jigs that actually look like a fish as opposed to something that doesn't like a buzz bomb?

Forage fish jig gear refers to the sabiki rigs (among others) used to catch forage fish i.e. herring, smelt etc.

Make sure you are using single point barbless hooks if you are fishing in the sound.

I stopped by Spokane St Wed AM. No fish. So I will prob fish the Snoho Friday.

You can launch at the Jack Perry launch. That frontage road is closed every night at 7:00 pm or so for construction. It's pretty convenient and a quiet spot. I have never caught pinks in eBay. Just in the lower duwamiah south of that launch.

3-5 mon pm at the same spot. Fished 6-8 pm. Wonder if the netting will make things that much "less hot" for good?

Fyi -- excerpt from the rules:

"Duwamish Waterways Special Rules: a) Downstream of 1st Ave. South
Bridge
is part of Marine Area 10. Record SALMON caught here as Marine
Area 10 on your catch record card. b) July 1-Aug. 18: closed to fishing
for SALMON. c) Aug. 19-Aug. 28: same rules as Elliott Bay Fishery
plus the additional restrictions listed in this section. d) Aug. 29-Aug. 31:

This is #4 on the Marine Area 10 MAP page.

Just stay upstream from the 1st Ave bridge.

Thanks for the note. I was just upstream of the bridge. The other bonus of being on that side is the 6 fish limit!
