It's a great surf town.  It's on my fishing bucket list but I've only been there to surf so far.

Don't forget to check out Ucluelet and possibly Port Alberni while you're up there.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain

I have flyfished out of a kayak off Mackenzie beach in the past but that was August fishing. fishing has been hot in theTofino area according to the locals but has cooled offin the last week. It has down here on the south island too but everyone is hopefully attributing that to the full moon. We are expecting more coho to come. Here is a pb forum link that will give you lots of info and some contactlinkstothe Tofino sportsfishing store that should be able to help you out.

I few years ago in August a bud and I flew to Tofino and got a charter.  Fishing was great.  Where we fished from the charter would require a mother ship for a kayak.  You may want to check out Tofino and Ucluelet (Barkley Sound) for mothership opportunities.
