Coquille River Yakin?

Hey all,

I'm an ex-commercial salmon guy and am learning the way of the Yak. Love it so far. I'm wondering if anyone on here has fished for salmon on the Coquille river. I'm planning on drifting some herring down there for the next few days and am wondering if anyone wants to meet up or has any pointers (pretty novice at pole/kayak fishing).

Welcome. I am new to kayaking myself but also divide my time between the Valley and Bandon. In fact I'll be there all next week but without the kayak. What days are you going? I'll cheer you on. I read in the local paper that we get  that the fishing's been good lately like around Rocky Point. You might start there. I'm hoping to fish the Coquille some day so keep in touch if you're down there regularly.

Oh, yeah. Check with Tony at the Port of Call tackle shop for up to date intel. He writes the report in the local paper.
