Hey guys my name is Chris,  I've been fishing since I was knee high to a grasshopper but fairly new to the kayak fishing scene.  I've fished in Cali for 19 years, Washington for 5 years, Alaska for 4 years, and Hawaii for 3 years.   I'm leaving Hawaii in February 2012 but not sure where there sending me yet.   Anyways just wanted to introduce myself, I just picked up Yak fishing about a year ago and have already grown to love it.  I'm currently running a Scupper Pro with the bassyaks 55lb minnkota conversion, 2 flush mounts, two Ram rocket launchers,  Eagle Cuda 350 sonar w/GPS, and 1000gpm live well.  My girlfriend is running a Dolphin 14 with a similar setup but she has an outrigger w/3.3 hp outboard on it.  A lot of people give me crap for the motors on the kayaks but they both came rigged that way and we only use the motors about 1% of the time which is when were trolling out to the 13 mile bouy cause it can get kinda windy out that far. I hope to learn some good stuff from your forum and maybe fish with some of you guys depending on where I go in February.  By the way if anyone is interested in a good warm water kayak fishing site out local one is AQUAHUNTERS.COM and it's LOADED with good info and people.

One would think so, but if I had it to do all over again I would have stayed in AK hands down.  :o  The island is nice for a little but after a few months is gets small, hot, expensive, and over crowded.    Believe it or not the fishing kinda sucks and there's no camping or hunting really.   But I did make the best of it and discovered kayak fishing so thats good.

You were on Oahu.  Go to the Big Island.  I'll be on Maui in January.  Any chance you'll be around?

Yea I'm on Oahu, I do plan on going to the Big island before I leave.   To bad they shut down the ferry cause you used to be able to load up your car and kayak.   I'll be around till Feb 1st then I'm out.

The airlines and some of the local commerce organizations banded together and raised environmental issues to bog it down in legalities.  They didn't want folks to be able to avoid the airlines and get to alternative shopping on the more populated islands.
