Really cool rig. How is the downrigger to heave in or pay out since it's behind you. Where are you going to christen this fishing machine??

Foul_hooked.....it's a piece of cake.  It's easy to both tighten/loosen the clutch and operate with one hand.  It's setup to where one revolution roughly equals one foot of line, so setting it is merely a matter of counting turns to target depth then a little additional to compensate for lift when trolling starts.

And so far my cadence for paddling in a semi straight line, 3 strokes STBD paddle for every single stroke PORT paddle.  Keeping it near the 1 mph target for Kokanee takes a bit of concentration.... ::)

Heading out again this weekend....Sat @ American for Kokes....and pondering if its worth trying Commencement on Sunday if the wind behaves.

Nice job, good looking rig!
I'd be a tad wary of your stbd downrigger though. In that position just behind the seat and with the arm standing straight out, you might be asking for a "Wali" :o

FFTW thanks for the warning.  I have used it several times now without a hint of instability.  Now using 3lb finned ball (the lightest I could find anywhere) as the non finned 2 pounder liked to spin and foul my gear.

mtom....I've got the T-11 and just received my Fish Finder today. Did you mount your tranducer in the scupper designed for it or elsewhere? I'd like to use the scupper as it was intended, but no idea how to go about it....Dave

Hi Dave

The FF I went with, the HB 597 HD DI Combo's transducer is not compatable with the modified scupper hole on the starboard side.  I decided, since I also fish freshwater, not to go with the foam puck method thru-hull because it compromises the water temperature reading, a feature I paid for and need when in the lakes.  I designed a transducer arm using Scotty parts, but it was big and bulky and in the end I didn't care for it.  Then I found this sweet little over the side deployment arm made by Mad Frog Gear called the mini liberator.  That is what you see in the photo.  Works great, easy to set up, and I can easily remove and stow it during transport.

Let me know if this helps or if you need more info!

Thanks for the reply and the link. Had I been paying attention as I read through the thread the first time, I would have noticed demonic had already mentioned your "transducer wand" Feeling a little bit like a dipshit now that I see I asked that, I'm going to go back and sit in the corner, where hopefully, the other kids don't make fun of me.
