Hit the river earlier and followed the advice of Zee and the mystery Mango Outback member.  I hooked a nice Silver near the mouth of the Pilchuck.  As I was landing and storing in the front hatch, I look up at a sea lion about 15 yards away.  By the time I got my lure back in the water he had run through the path I was just on.  I wonder if he pushed the Coho right up river on to my plug.  Of course there were no fish to be found after he dove a couple times.

Nice to get the Snohomish "skunk" smell off the PA!!

Way to make it look easy!

Yaks are just made for salmon fishing aren't they?   ;D

Quick question.  She was full of eggs.  Have any of you gone through the process of curing eggs?  Is it worth the effort?

I  cured some eggs but I haven't tried them yet.  It was really easy though, I just followed the directions on the  egg cure packaging.

   dwalk206,
Most definitely cure your own eggs. That stuff is red gold.......
There are a kazillion recipies for curing eggs.Do a quick search, goggle it,or whatever but you can make a better egg than you can buy.The many commercial cures available are a good starting point, but after you've done a few pounds ,you may find you'll want to mix and match deferent techniques to find what works best for your own style of f ishing.
So in essence----when you catch a hen full of nice tight eggs---keep em and cure your own.

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Congrats!!! The kayak is feared by salmon. I think I did as well as any powerboat a majority of the time. Maybe the season is tad shorter since sometime you have to wait for them to come in range. But if they are in range, I feel my CPUE is as good any power boat.

Oh catch per unit effort...CPUE
