Yes, I've got my depthfinder mounted there on my Adventure.  Rock solid, no complaints about the wedge mount..

I have seen guys use that set up with much success.

They also attached a ball mount to the bottom side of the front hatch cover so you can store your Fish Finder safely in the front hatch when your not using it. I thought that was clever.
