...and the rivers may be unfishable! Just my luck >:(
Anybody recommend some fishable water for Friday? I've got OR/WA license and live in Vancouver area. Any decent lake fishing this time of year? Really appreciate any suggestions!

If you're set up for the salt I'd hit the coast for some rockfish/cabezon/greenling/sole/surf perch if I were in your shoes.  Assuming the weather calms down enough by Friday anyway.

Bummer to hear that the rivers aren't going to work out for you.  Is there a way to switch your days off?

The Oregon coast is not doable Friday.  At least I wouldn't.  http://magicseaweed.com/Lincoln-City-Surf-Report/316/

If I were to attempt anything, it would be sturgeon on the Columbia for AOTY points.  But, the best and warmest bet is this ;):

Perhaps Silver lake or Lacamas will have some cooperative crappie. Also look for any lakes that had late trout stockings last winter as a possibility. Staying home is  the only guaranteed skunk!

I would say island lake up by me, but with the weather we've had the last couple days I think there is going to be some ice.  Yakin through ice is no fun.   When I lived in Connecticut I went striper fishing when it was so cold my paddle froze to the bottom of the canoe!!!

I am going to Silver Lake on Sunday. They just released 5000 trout and they Crappie are biting. I don't think it will get to murky up there from the rain, but would call the resort before going.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I posted (or thought I had) a reply earlier, but being a newbie, I'm not sure it stuck. I think I'll put into a recently stocked lake. Hope these rivers recede soon... lots of folks losing their homes  :( Anyway, really appreciate the support on this site. I'll reach out this summer and try to hook up with other yakers. I'd love to fish the salt. PDXfisher put it best "staying home is the only guaranteed skunk"!

Good luck! I feel kind of false now. I was going to go out tomorrow but I was told the pond I was going to fish was flooded and there are supposed to be gusts to 50mph. Sometimes a skunk is the best you can do. Have fun and stay safe!

Its cold raining windy ugly here.  Good day to tie flies or jigs, re-spool lines, shop for more deals on the internet, or scrub the kitchen floor. (I think I'll scrub that last idea, and run with the others).

sumpnz, I'm here on the coast, and your suggestion is looking very bad right now! I'm even wondering if I'm going to get to go beachcombing in this crap, wearing full-on rain gear.

Hence my caveat on the weather calming down.
