Well...I saw my orthopedic surgeon. My knee has been feeling a bit better since my cortisone shot. He said we can postpone surgery and try some stuff call hyalgen. Supposedly a series of 5 shots in to the knee capsule can lubricate and provide pain relief for up to 6 months.
It's made of rooster comb! I laughed and told him I would try it but if my c@&k woke up at 4 am and started crowing my wife is gonna be PISSED!!!
Going to see Jake at next adventure to buy an outback! Can't wait to hit the water!

I hope that the treatment works - especially without the side effects. Congrats on cheating the surgeon out of a new Mercedes :)

Side effects??? Hahahahaha!!!!!!!! If you had any idea the torure I have put my body through in my 51 years you too would laugh in the face of side effects!!! Okay--maybe not laugh but at least scoff a bit. Seriously though--if only for a moment...
I did some research and the side effects of joint pain, swelling, "hot inflammation"  and general lack of relief seem to be associated with the single shots of massive amounts of hyaluronic (sp?) acid and another brand. I am feeling pretty good about my chances.
Life is very good, and I hope about to get even better when I land my first lingcod on my new Outback!
Have I mentioned you guys ROCK and that I can't wait to spend some time at sea with ya'all?
I am going to try and put together a trip or too to chase TUNA! offshore this summer. If I can pull it off anyone wanna go  ;D

I'd be down for albacore.  'Course we get them up here too.  Went out last year though and the tuna fishing sucked hard core.  8 people, 15 hours, 1 fish.  Seemed like there were windows of about a week or so in August and a couple weeks in mid-September that the tuna bite was hot.  Otherwise it blew goats.

I was joking around about the 4am side effect :)I understand the aging body thing. I am 50 and have 5 anchors in my left shoulder and 3 in my right. Despite that I re-tore my labrum in my right shoulder last December. Also injured my achilles tendon last August and have not been able to bike since. Sucks getting old, but the alternative is much worse... Best of luck on the recovery. Nothing heals like fish slime.

Dang PDX...I am the slow one in the bunch! Thought you were talking about the shots! My lovely wife told me today that I can cockadoodledoo whenever I want too. Damn--I love that girl  ;D
50 seems to be the magic marker. I don't actually hit 51 til April. I just like to prepare myself mentally for the shock.
I hope to have the pleasure of fishing with you sometime soon. Should my knees and your upper body give out I could probably drag us both back to shore. My shoulders are still stout!
