I am not, by nature, a patient person when it comes to waiting for a good deal.  My question to you puget sound/northern Oregon folks... Am I likely to find a good deal in a kayak anytime soon? I just figure you know the turn over better then I do.

I hear ya.  Waiting on Craigslist is just painful.  You'll see lots of SINK and WW boats, but the SOT timescale is longer.  My rough guess is that it will take a month or more.  But that's based on casual observation.  If you're trying to justify a purchase of a new boat, well, I don't want to be an enabler.  You may have a very nice wife or significant other that would be mad at your new friends here at the kayak fishing forum.  And we don't want that.  However, we have a few realllllly nice shops here in Oregon.  The employees even frequent the forum.  Give the word, and they'll set you up with a shiny new boat.

You can always get a  fair deal on new stuff.  The really good deals though just simply take some patience to find.  Seems like fall is the time for clearance sales.

Trolling Craigslist can be a good way to get a good deal on some used stuff.  I've had good luck buying stuff from there as well as from other members that post to the Classified section on this board.

Quite a few people on here like to troll Craigslist.  If they find good deals, they'll post links into our classified adds on this site.  I usually do a daily CR search for Kayaks.

Posting a wanted to buy on here is also a good idea too. There are a lot of guys with spare boats in their garages or some sponsored guys that get a new boat every year or so. Be specific with what you want and what you're looking to pay.

Yes, I saw that and it looks like a great deal. But it would be a 10 drive one way. I checked  ;D

You have a lot of new found friends - maybe some of them can figure a way to help you out with a delivery if you really are serious about that yak  :)

I am serious about it. I'm looking at a 13 and wondering how much difference two ft make. The one I'm looking at has a fish finder and hasn't seen the water either.  I need to be able to put this on my Honda accord.

With a roof rack the extra 2' of a 13'er is meaningless as far as ease of transport goes.  I have a pickup with a bed-extension support, but the guy I bought it from met me with it on the roof of his Toyota Cressida.  An Accord should be no problem for that T13.

The length shouldn't be an issue.  I used to carry a 16 foot Tarpon on my civic.
