I think as kayakers, on this forum, we are generally more prepared than the average person.  With that said, I still think it's helpful to be as knowledgeable as we can about the possible consequences of cold water and to really "know" how it affects us so that we can plan ahead and go out in a safe manner and to also discourage those who aren't prepared.  Notice the kayaks at the end.  Looks like they are sending a message to kayakers. ???

Great refresher... The physiology makes sense..as does the point, pfd's all the time. Also, do yourself a favor, buy the best pfd you can afford. With quality comes comfort. Most guys and gals don't blink when it comes to spending $100 plus on a rod or reel but go cheap and uncomfortable on a pfd.... Never made sense to me. $100 will get you a pretty nice one.
