This Saturday looks favorable weather wise. I am thinking of heading to PC or Depoe Bay for some rock fishIng. Also want to test out my new VHF, too. I would love to have company. Anyone going?

Caution! Reach the Beach weekend in PC. Saturday will be a mad house. My usual is to stay at home or leave town early if I'm not part of the festivities.
Sunday will likely be busy also but not as bad.

Was planning to pound the the sand for Hali in PC, but would like to get some time in at Depoe Bay before the ORC.

Thanks Dave for photo documenting our day at Depoe Bay today. There were fish out there.... Just not as many as when I was there the last time about a month ago. Regarding what Dave mentioned about me filling in the blank, it's kinda embarrassing and a learning experience for me. Only about 5 minutes into fishing...BAAAM, fiiishooonnn. At least that what I thought. It was heavy....real heavy, so in my head....HALIBUT. As the swell bounced my kayak up and down, it did felt like the halibut was putting up a good fight. It was like a tug of war. I fought the "halibut" for 45 minutes.  My arm and arm pit was sore and sweat was beading on my forehead. The fight could of lasted all day in hind sight. Good thing Dave thew in the towel and broke the news to me that I was just fighting a snag and that it happened to him b4. Damn. Sure enough, he showed me how the fish didn't take any line when he let the line slagged. Lesson learned.  ;D
